Samajik Loktantrik Party leaders Pasang Sherpa, Chaitanya Subba among other eight other leaders from the Chairman’s panel have been suspended from the party for aligning with Baburam Bhattarai’s Naya Shakti Campaign.
The party informed about the suspension organising a press conference at the Reporters Club in Kathmandu on Wednesday. Other leaders facing suspension are Kamala Hemchuri, Dal Mardan Kami, Jyoti Danuwar, Bishan Rai, Man Prasad Sunuwar and Tika Prasad Gauchan.
Chairman’s panel member Kumar Rai urged other party workers to work towards the party objective denouncing reports that surfaced in the media regarding the entire party along with Sherpa and other leaders aligning with the Naya Shakti Campaign.
Meanwhile, supporters of the ousted leaders distributed photocopies of decision booklet that stated that the suspended leaders were at the Naya Shakti campaign as per the party decision.
