Morcha to reconsider forms of protest

Chairman of Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party, one of the constituent parties affiliated to agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, Mahendra Raya Yadav, has said that the Morcha will reconsider its forms of protests including border blockade.
“Border obstruction has been for a long time. This has impacted normal livelihood negatively. Now time has come to change our forms of protests,” said Yadav in an interaction organised in the Capital on Tuesday.
“Morcha’s meeting that will take place in few days is likely to reconsider its form of protests after February 1,” said Yadav. He also said new forms of protest will be stepped up.
Yadav said that their new protests will also be launched in hill and mountain districts as Tarai-centred protests failed to yield solution.
He refuted recent rumours that Morcha was preparing to form a ‘mega alliance’ to intensify the protest.
Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party General Secretary Jitendra Sonal said that they are not ready to withdraw border obstruction based on constitution amendment. He claimed that first amendment to the constitution has not addressed their demands.
